Steamquench Optimizer®

Many petro-chemical plants have steam quench in place. Normally they
have standard connections either designed or otherwise. If we take closer
look as to the ideal requirements they consist of:
-
Mechanical separation of steam and condensate by use of a separator
or pocketing and purge and T branch–station. It is to prevent
slugs of condensate finding their way to the seal and flash.
-
Removal of condensate by means of a steam trap in the right
location. A manual purge drain valve is useless.
-
Careful regulation of the steam pressure in the seal chamber.
-
Means to check this pressure carefully and clearly.
In many plants one or more of these 4 critical requirements are missing.
The ones that do have all 4 requirements spend much more cost on the
whole line-up than the cost of the Steamquench Optimizer, sometimes
5-10 times the cost.
If all the 4 requirements are met the Steamquench Optimizer might not
be necessary…but even for future steam quench connections it is much
cheaper and more logical to use it instead of making your own.
